Asus is launching its two models of laptop: Asus ZenBook Pro UX580 and UX480 this year. The first impression was given at its Computex 2018 ROG event last Tuesday. The new ZenBook Pro models are the modifications of the earlier models it seems. The latest models are slim than the earlier models. They have the latest hardware from Intel and nice touches like narrow screen borders and high-speed Thunderbolt 3 ports.
The ScreenPad of Asus ZenBook Pro models are 5.5-inch full-HD IPS touchscreen that replaces the usual trackpads. They works in new updated Windows 10. Both the models are available in Deep Dive Blue colour with Rose Gold trim with a neutral colour option as usual. The UX480 model is of 14-inch having a “ergolift hinge” which inclines the lower half slightly when opened. On other hand, the UX580 model is of 15-inch which is a simple clamshell. The larger model gets a six-core Intel Core i9 CPU and a super-accurate Pantone-validated 4K screen. On other hand, the smaller one gets a Core i7 and full-HD screen.
The bigger model Asus ZenBook Pro UX580 is having two Thunderbolt 3 ports for connecting three external monitors. On other hand, with the smaller one Asus ZenBook Pro UX480 we will get 10Gbps USB 3.1 Type-C. The UX480 has an infrared camera for Windows Hello authentication, while the UX580 has only a fingerprint sensor. The weight of the UX580 is 1.8kg and UX480 is of 1.6kg, both are utra thin. Other features include 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.0 which are common to both the models.
